12 hours sleep seems to have done the trick. Flew through the lessons and had lunch with our new flatmate Barbera who is from Hannover and speaks no Spanish and hardly any English so lunchtime conversations are a bit strained. Craig is doing my nut. He is just like "Tim Nice but Dim". I feel like a reluctant father with 2 dependents who won't have a go at speaking the language. We also only have one set of keys. Grrrr.
We tried to go to the Vivarium which is a snake exhibition but when we got there there were no snakes.
Got back and was given instruction on how to use the shower. Aha, so you can only have it trickling with water to get it hot.How silly of me not to realise.
Dinner was Milanesa and mash. This seems to be following me around SA. But the highlight of the meal was getting my own keys.
Had good night out at a welcome night for Ordex at a bar called Finn McCools. Karla was there as was her mate who is pretty amazing too. I destroyed the competition by knocking out a few preterite and subjunctives with the ladies while they languished in first gear. Had free beer and nachos and met lots of other Brits doing volunteer work. They all seem really good fun. We are now planning the nights out and weekends.
A VERY English pub quiz started at 830. Our team (all brits and not with TNBD) came third despite the fact we got the question - "How many countries in SA do NOT border Brazil" - wrong.
