Booked flights from Lima to La Paz (22nd Nov) and Santiago to Mexico City (15th Dec). Came to a mere ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. Grrrr. And all because my central America trip was canned. Mental note to self, only book guaranteed tours in future.
Had lunch with K in the Maple Tree as it was chucking it down outside. We talked about our joint need to purchase underwear and an hour later we were in a very modern shopping centre will Calvin Klein, Tommy H, Armani etc. Puts Touchwood to shame. 6 pairs of pants, 2 pairs of socks and a t-shirt for 20 quid.
Had a bit of a mare as I twice typed the number of my royal mail card incorrectly and decided to leave it until tomorrow to try again. Also my virginone card doesn't work in the hole in the wall which isn't ideal.
And that is pretty much it for today. This time next week I should be in the Galápagos. 0 metres above sea level and hopefully less crime.
